Commonly asked Questions and our Answers

What are the difference between the controllers?

Both controllers are exterior IP54 rated and designed to be installed outside on the wall next to the system or on the tank.

V1.1 Smart Outdoor Controller

Operational mode (selectable by the end user, bold is most popular in WA):

  • Option 1: 24hours – ‘on-duty’ to heat when needed when activated by sensor in tank (~60% from the top) reaching 37C
  • Option 2: 9hours (off-peak mode 1: 10pm – 7am)
  • Option 3: 6hours (off-peak mode 2: 12am – 6am)
  • Option 4: 6 hours (10am – 4pm) – One complete cycle commences at 10am but unit stays ‘on-duty’ till 4pm
  • Option 5: Timer (two-zones)
  • Option 6: Remote (one complete heat cycle) – Activated by a dry contact signal from home management or PV inverters or dry contact smart switches

V2.0 WiFi Smart Outdoor Controller

Link your unit to your Smart Phone and control everything from the Australian Designed Phone Application called Reclaim Energy.

Operational modes can all be changed from the phone app. Options 1 to 5 are the same as the V1.1 Controller with the addition of:

  • Option 6: Timer (Two-Zones) & Multiple Temperature Control.
  • Option 7: Remote (one complete heat cycle) – Activated by a dry contact signal from home management or PV inverters or dry contact smart switches.

Additional information the phone application provides is:

  • Power Usage
  • Input Current
  • Ambient Temperature
  • Temperature at ~2/3 location down of tank (this does not represent the temperature at the top of the tank or at the tap)

Note, your heat pump location needs to be in range of your WiFi to take full advantage of this controller.

Your Payment Options and Plans

Just a note before we go further. Interest Free does not exist. Retailers who are offering this have bundled the ‘cost’ into a higher price. Typically the retailer needs to add around 10% for a basic 6-12 month plan. Our aim is to offer sharp pricing for quality hot water systems – wholesale direct to the public.

We accept payment by:

  1. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard & AMEX) and we don’t surcharge.
  2. Bank Transfer (EFT)
  3. Cash, by depositing at any NAB branch.
  4. Payment Plan, spread the payments with a special discounted Green Loan from Brighte. Select your term between 2 to 7 years. Just let us know and we will send you a link to get the application started.
More Information on the Government Rebate

Everybody is eligible for a rebate.

The price of the rebate technically fluctuates from day to day. It also goes down 10% at the end of each year. This is based on the install date, not when you pay your deposit.

If you get a supply only, we will provide you the forms for you to claim the rebate back once installed.

Where we facilitate the install, the plumbers provide an upfront point of sale discount for this Rebate. They retrospectively claim it back once it’s installed. They just need your signature on the form once installed to make this process seamless.

I just want Supply Only

No problem. We can deliver the product in Perth Metro to your door step of any residential address or a Delivery Depot of your choice. For solutions outside of Perth Metro please contact us.

As in this scenario you will be arranging install you will also be claiming the rebate yourself. Once the product is delivered we email you the form you need to complete to claim this Government STC Rebate.

I'm Building a new home - What are the pre-lay requirements?

Regardless if we ‘plumb in’ or we supply to site for the builder, they will need to pre-lay certain provisions.

The heat pump can be installed to the right or left of the tank. Where the heat pump is on the right then the tank can be rotated 180degrees so the plumbing is on the right hand side too.

Plumbing provisions needed:

  • Cold feed tail in copper, 40mm from the edge of tank, ~300mm off FFL
  • Tempered Hot feed tail in copper, 40mm from edge of tank, ~800mm off FFL
  • If Applicable, Untempered Hot feed tail in copper, 40mm from edge of tank, ~1000mm off FFL
  • It is advised these tails are looped together to prove that both hot and cold pipe work inside the house has been pressure tested.
  • A pit/drain inline with the tails 400mm from the wall.
  • Paved flat area for the unit to sit on or concrete plinth, 1800mm wide, 600mm off wall and ~75mm deep.
  • If the builder intends to use 20mm supply pipes please advise so we upgrade the valves/pipes to 20mm too. This additional will be quoted separately.

Electrical provisions needed:

  • A dedicated 16A circuit terminated with a double 10A weatherproof GPO central and above the heat pump location (if ground mounted thats ~900mm off FFL).
